You are in safe hands with Liz Barnes and the Envoca staff of talented trainers and consultants. All of our trainers are qualified, experienced practitioners able to provide the comprehensive support and training that you need.

The Envoca brand was launched in 2013 after 18 years trading as Yada Ltd. The founder, Liz Barnes has an accomplished marketing and training career and has brought together an experienced group of consultants, trainers and marketing practitioners to support clients and build the business.

Liz - strategic marketing, leadership and management development

My role is Managing Director and Principal Consultant / Facilitator and I work with clients to develop their marketing strategy, positioning and formulate coherent marketing plans. I devise suitable research and customer insight for clients, to help them understand their market better and provide a context for future plans. I also design and deliver several of the marketing and management training courses.

As a qualified trainer, strategic Chartered Marketer, and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, I firmly believe in professional development and encourage individuals and companies to adopt a CPD approach. My expertise comes from private, public, charity and third sector organisations, where I have delivered projects in marketing communications, branding, positioning, research, marketing planning, strategy, customer relationship management and programme evaluation.

I provide training and coaching to large organisations, small businesses and individuals. I am known for my warm, encouraging style which enables learning to take place and strategy to be explored in a way that people enjoy.

Paul - business strategy, performance, executive coaching and financial services

Paul delivers consultancy and coaching support to businesses across the spectrum, from start up to blue chip organisations. His focus is on delivering high quality, pragmatic and fully implemented solutions to business problems.

Paul  is a key member of the Envoca staff, an experienced facilitator, coach and trainer – a strong communicator and confident presenter.

He finds real job satisfaction when working with business executives, senior managers and staff, to identify and overcome barriers to success and to unlock the potential within both individuals and the business.

He spent many years in the financial services industry and his specialities include: strategy & business planning, marketing, executive coaching & mentoring, competitive intelligence, change management, profit improvement & performance measurement.

Claire - copywriting, media relations, SEO writing, financial services

Claire is a marketing communications professional with 18 years’ experience planning and executing campaigns both nationally and internationally. She has worked in a broad range of sectors including professional services (accountancy, corporate finance) L&D / training, banking, software and services and engineering.

Throughout her career she has written copy for both traditional and digital media and she now specialises in SEO (search engine optimised) copywriting for websites and social media.

Prior to this, Claire worked as a Multimedia News Editor, SEO Content and Traditional Marketing Media for EAO and a Group Communications Manager for Business Recovery Group Numerica. She holds her Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing with The Chartered Institute of Marketing and has a BA Hons in Business Studies from the University of Brighton.

Tim - marketing & sales trainer, business & marketing strategy, consumer behaviour

Tim Lane is an indispensible part of the Envoca staff. He spent his early years in FMCG sales with companies such as Proctor and Gamble, Duracell and Dairy Crest Foods, where he was National Sales Manager. He ran the sales and marketing function for his family business, until it was eventually sold to Whitbread. after which he became marketing director to a children’s leisure business. In addition, Tim has always enjoyed training and developing staff and he has taught on CIM courses for twenty years, lecturing at a number of educational environments, including the University of Brighton.

He holds an MBA and DipM from The CIM. He also has a PGCE, is a qualified teacher, a member of the Institute for learning (IFL), a Fellow of the CIM and a Chartered Marketer. Tim has also been a CIM examiner for a number of years across different modules, and is currently an Examiner for the Marketing Planning Process module on the CIM Professional Diploma. His areas of interest include strategic marketing planning, business strategy and consumer behaviour.

Cheryl - digital marketing, marketing communications, trainer, evaluation, research

Cheryl is an inspiring trainer and workshop facilitator as well as being a first class marketing consultant. She is a qualified Chartered Marketer with over a 14 years’ experience. Her work includes:

  • evaluating development programmes in the area of research uptake, knowledge-management and communication
  • training in digital marketing, marketing research skills and project management
  • briefing clients on the latest developments in research communication, digital marketing, online behaviour
  • helping knowledge and information services adapt to meet the changing needs of their global users

Her management expertise comes from her time as a team manager, in-house trainer, union rep, trustee and strategic project manager for various clients giving her significant experience in negotiation, facilitation and organisational change.

Gail - PR and communications, wordsmith, journalism, editorial, copywriting

Gail is a persuasive and articulate media relations and communications practitioner: an experienced journalist, writer and editor: a proven manager, possessing excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively at all levels.

She is a member of the CIPR and also a qualified trainer holding a Certificate in Education. Her work has included:

• Public affairs: developing and implementing a strategic communications programme aimed at informing and influencing the government and policy makers
• PR and media: responsible for all PR, media relations, campaigns and strategy
• External communications: responsible for development of the company and client’s ‘voice’: fostering high level relationships with partners and stakeholders
•Internal communications: developing and promoting internal communications policy: management of intranet
• Writing high level articles, corporate and marketing material, and web content
• Social media marketing, strategy, content creation, posts and management

Tessa - social marketing, strategic reviews, research projects, public sector

Tessa is a qualified strategic Chartered Marketer with extensive experience in public service marketing, social marketing, performance and marketing research management. Tessa has worked with, and understands the needs of, not-for-profit clients and delivers social marketing training across the UK. She is a qualified market researcher and regularly undertakes strategic reviews for clients.

Tessa is an experienced facilitator and trainer working with a wide range of people including CEOs, Directorate heads, academics, business leaders, managers, operational staff, individual consultants, professional students and undergraduates.

She brings strategic acumen and extensive practical experience to one of her roles as lecturer at Brighton University Business School, teaching Consumer Psychology, undergraduates and Chartered Management Institute students. She holds a Post Graduate Strategic Marketing  qualification and a PGCE in Teaching for Post Compulsory Education

Sue - PR & marketing communications specialising in social and education marketing

A PR, communications and marketing professional, Sue has specialised in education marketing for the last 18 years. She has helped colleges develop thriving PR and marketing departments and has worked with independent schools to develop reputation management strategies incorporating proactive media relations. Sue’s experience as a qualified English teacher and as an account director for an award-winning public relations consultancy give her great insight into the issues faced by the education sector.

More recently, Sue has undertaken many Social Marketing (behaviour change) projects and strategic reviews. This has included work with young people and alcohol awareness, health and fitness interventions for teenagers and projects with NEETS (young people not in education, employment or training). She uses her marketing communication, event planning and social marketing insight to craft exciting, creative interventions to reach these groups and to perform as an inspiring member of the Envoca staff.
